Executive Assistance

Posted on 31 Mar 2019 @ 10:14pm by Petty Officer First Class Aimee Teagarten & Lieutenant Heather Kowal

Mission: Justice
Location: Headquarters, CO's Office
Timeline: 4 MAY 2389, 15:02

Heather had gotten a spare moment and decided that now would be a good time to get one of the yeomen assigned as her executive assistant. She had gone through their profiles and noticed that YN1 Teagarten had been assigned to an Admiral as an aide and figured she'd know exactly what needed to be done. She pressed the comm button on her desk, "Lieutenant Kowal to YN1 Teagarten."

Aimee heard Lieutenant Kowal's voice, paging her and responded immediately. "YN1 Teagarten here." She had been eager to meet the new lieutenant, yet she wondered why she was being requested for a private meeting with her.

"Please report to my office," she said, with no indication in her tone if it were good or bad.

"Yes, ma'am, right away." She replied and got up from her desk. She smoothed her hands over her uniform and let out a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. Maybe being summoned wasn't a bad thing at all, maybe something good was about to happen. But Aimee learned to expect and prepare for the worst. She was often nervous when meeting new people, it was something she always had to learn to deal with.

Aimee crossed the short distance to Lieutenant Kowal's office and rang the chime, reminding herself to be calm.

"Enter," Heather called.

Aimee entered and stood three steps away from Lieutenant Kowal's desk in the center. She stood at attention, her shoulders straight, showing no sign of the nervousness she felt.

"YN1 Aimee Teagarten reporting as ordered, ma'am." She spoke confidently.

"Thank you for coming," Heather said, a cheerful demeanor about her. "Why don't you have a seat?" she said, standing to shake the woman's hand before she sat down. "May I call you Aimee?" she asked.

Aimee gave the lieutenant a small smile as they shook hands. She sat down but kept her posture stiff and upright. Observing the lieutenant’s cheery tone, she relaxed a little more and nodded. “Yes, please do, ma’am.” She replied.

"So you've been with the L-E-T since it went in service?" she asked, of course knowing the answer.

Aimee nodded. “Yes, ma’am.” She had been on Starbase 310 right before that, and had enjoyed her time there, but was glad to be assigned to the LET when it went in service.

Heather looked at her as if to ask her to elaborate on her time there.

"I was transferred here from Starbase 310, and I really enjoy it here. I'm glad to be a part of a team that helps so many people." Aimee continued.

Heather just nodded clearly she wasn't getting the hint or she just was a private person. Though her previous record stood for itself she was a useful Yeoman so she was going to give her a shot anyway despite this awkward showing of her social skills.

"The Work Station outside of my office is all yours. Please make sure that the assignments are up to date on the unit portal and get yourself settled in. Your first day of work assigned to the command team is tomorrow... Dismissed."

Aimee nodded. "Yes ma'am." She stood at attention and then left the room.
